Red Sky At Night

Taken at Rossington near Doncaster, this misty evening sunset was beautiful to watch and the colours lit up my mind for the rest of the evening.

Jools and I celebrated this lovely evening with a nice bottle of Chardonnay in the Hare and Tortoise.

Gambling Grandmas

My mum said never gamble, but look here, caught you red handed on the roulette wheel in Cleethorpes!

Very typical of this Yorkshire seaside town full of slot arcades, chip shops, candy floss and kiss me quick hats.

Sleepy Male Lion - Shamwari Game Reserve

It was such a pleasure to see this beautiful animal just as the sun was coming up at around 6.30am.

Shamwari game reserve was a fabulous place to spot these well cared for but very wild animals.

But, while he looked very sleepy, Headman my guide informed me that should I have stepped out of the vehicle I would probably had to run for my life!!

You wouldn't like to get caught short by one of these in the bush!!

The Rock Jerusalem

Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem showing the walls of the old city through barbed wire.

I thought this photograph taken on my party cam a very poignant one, considering The Rocks religious importance to the world and the turbulence under which the people of Jerusalem live.

My understanding from the guide during my visit to Jerusalem is that this site has been vehemently fought over through the centuries, and according to Islamic tradition is where Mohammad ascended into heaven with the angel Gabriel!

It is also my understanding that Jews consider this as the holiest place on earth.

I loved my time in Jerusalem, especially it's history, the markets, bazaar's and their lovely felafel's.
